Our classic MG group meet on the first Thursday every month at “The Chequers” at Well
and we have been meeting here since July 2008.
We love the quintessential cosy open fire, old oak beams, the warm and friendly but professional atmosphere at the pub, that Jane,Mike and Louise create.
The food is always of excellent quality and well presented (all of the usual garnishes and twiddly bits)
The group have a very enjoyable meal every month, whether it be a Classic bar meal or off the main menu, the quality remains at the same high standard, we also have our annual Xmas dinner there too, which is always a pleasure to organize because Jane, Mike,Louise and staff show their professionalism and make the evening run so smooth.
On a personal note my favorite dishes are Liver, bacon and onions or fish and chips, both are delicious and very good value.
”The Chequers” is well worth a visit at any time, especially if you like a pub with “Ye olde worlde” feel, a cosy open fire, excellent food and a warm inviting atmosphere.
Wow what a lovley old world pub, and a great welcome from the young lady behind the bar, the food was well cooked and very tasty with a good menu, fish meat and pub clasics, i had scallops and my partner had liver would not hesitate to recomend the food and a great pint of badger ale.
